Estimator

One of the Northwest’s best established housebuild contractors are looking to add an Estimator to their Pre-Construction team – and if you’re looking for a fresh start in a brand-new team then you’d do right to pick up the phone and speak to me.  And why would that benefit you?

Well, you’d be joining this business at a pinch-point in their growth which has been steady but sustainably increasing year on year, especially since Covid. It means you’d be getting your teeth stuck into some of their ‘major projects’ as well as their traditional sites – everything is geared to building affordable units for repeat housing association clients – but the business have started to delve into hi-rise schemes as well as some truly re-generative projects that span upto 300 units.

They’d need you to sit in the Pre-Construction team, working closely with the owners (this is a family firm – less stress than your big PLC’s) and other teams whilst garnering excellent relationships with the housing associations they already work with – think Great Places, Bolton at Home, One Manchester etc.  And as a land led model this is where your experience starts – from appraisals to design development – you truly get involved right at the beginning of the process until handover to the Construction teams.

Working with a growing Technical team and a Head of Technical who has vast experience throughout the Northwest, not only is this a unique time to join the business as the first Estimator they’ve employed, it’ll also allow you to establish and grow your career in a business that has been growing year on year the last 5 years and is firmly committed to building affordable units for housing associations in the Northwest – their land banks are set for the next 5 years, too.

You’d be based in Salford with sites around the Greater Manchester area delivering a wide range of tenures and building methods including steel frame, timber and traditional. Some of the major they'll be delivering will be complex and involve some interesting elements alongside the actual build – for instance, one site will be bringing back a large stretch of disused canal to public use and another will deliver some unusual unit types which will be brand new to the business.

A family firm run by two brothers, they pride themselves on cutting out the red tape (and hassle) that some of the PLC’s give.
