Job Description

Step Teachers are seeking a Music Teacher to support across all year groups for a mainstream school in Enfield. This role is offered 3 days a week starting in September 2024.

Your duties as a Music Teacher:

  • To pitch Music lessons at an age-appropriate level
  • Ability to adapt lessons and approaches depending on the individual child/ whole class ability
  • To identify and report on the children's progress and any further areas of development
  • To work closely with the families to best support the students
  • Putting together additional resources needed to help the students access the learning, with the aid of the class teacher
  • Working closely with the Class Teacher to best support the students

To be considered for the position of Music Teacher, you will: 

  • Hold QTS or the equivalent is highly desirable
  • Hold a relevant Music qualification or extensive, referenceable experience teaching Music
  • Have experience working with students with special educational needs
  • Be patient and empathetic, with a strong ability to build rapport with students
  • Knowledge of effective teaching and behaviour management strategies
  • Commitment to creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment
