Interim Financial Controller - Luxury Hotel, London

Location: Central London

Contract Duration: 6 Months (with potential for extension)

Salary: A Pro-rata salary of £75000 + benefits

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Interim Financial Controller to join a prestigious luxury hotel in the heart of London. This is a pivotal role for a finance professional who thrives in a dynamic hospitality environment and is ready to lead a team of eight in ensuring the hotel's financial operations run smoothly.

Reporting directly to the General Manager, you will oversee the entire finance function, ensuring financial integrity, compliance, and effective reporting during a key transitional period. This role requires strong technical expertise, leadership skills, and a hands-on approach.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage the hotel's finance team of eight, providing leadership, mentorship, and ensuring high performance.
  • Take ownership of the monthly management accounts, financial reporting, and statutory compliance.
  • Prepare and present financial forecasts, cash flow projections, and variance analysis to senior management.
  • Ensure timely and accurate reconciliation of all accounts, including balance sheets, P&L statements, and VAT submissions.
  • Lead the budgeting process and collaborate with departmental heads to monitor financial targets.
  • Oversee internal controls, ensuring compliance with corporate policies and UK financial regulations.
  • Drive process improvements to enhance the efficiency of financial operations and reporting.
  • Liaise with external auditors, tax advisors, and key stakeholders.
  • Manage the Oracle Financial System, ensuring accurate and efficient data management and reporting.

Essential Skills & Qualifications:

  • Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with extensive post-qualification experience.
  • Proven experience as a Financial Controller or similar senior finance role in the hotel industry.
  • Expertise in using Oracle Financial Systems is essential.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with a track record of mentoring and developing staff.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact with senior stakeholders.
  • Ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and manage multiple priorities.
  • Experience in a luxury hotel environment or similar high-end hospitality setting.
