Senior Temporary Works Engineer- Contract – Remote

With our client experiencing rapid growth, we are actively searching for a Senior Temporary Works Engineer to join their team. This position presents an exciting chance to be part of a dynamic team and contribute to groundbreaking projects within the gas plant design realm.

As a  Senior Temporary Works Engineer you will be specialised in the engineering role within the construction industry. You will be responsible for overseeing the design, implementation, and management of temporary structures and worksites necessary to support construction projects.

Overall, your Role will play a critical part in the successful delivery of construction projects by providing expertise in temporary works design, project management, and risk management. You will need to ensure that temporary structures are safely designed, efficiently constructed, and effectively managed throughout the duration of a project.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leading the design and analysis of temporary works structures to ensure they are safe, functional, and compliant with relevant regulations and standards. This includes conducting structural calculations, preparing detailed drawings, and selecting appropriate materials and construction methods.
  • Managing the temporary works aspect of construction projects, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, and coordination with other project stakeholders.
  • Providing technical expertise and guidance to junior engineers and project teams regarding temporary works design, construction methods, and best practices.
  • Interfacing with clients, contractors, and regulatory authorities to address technical inquiries, obtain approvals, and ensure compliance with project requirements.
  • Identifying potential risks associated with temporary works and implementing appropriate mitigation measures to ensure the safety of personnel and the integrity of structures. This includes conducting risk assessments, monitoring site conditions, and implementing safety protocols.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field.
  • Significant experience in temporary works design within the construction industry.
  • Proficiency in relevant design software and tools.
  • Proven ability to manage projects, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines effectively.
  • Leadership qualities with the capacity to mentor and support junior team members.
