Job Description

One of the Northwest’s established housebuild contractor’s is looking to add a Technical Coordinator to their Technical and Design Team – with the exciting element of this being you’ll be leading their Major Products i.e. flagship sites in the Northwest – which hope to bring about some unique sites to areas in much need of affordable housing.

Working with a growing Technical team and a Head of Technical who has vast experience throughout the Northwest, not only is this a unique time to join the business as a Technical Coordinator, it’ll also allow you to establish and grow your career in a business that has been growing year on year the last 5 years and is firmly committed to building affordable units for housing associations in the Northwest – their land banks are set for the next 5 years, too.

You’d be based in Salford with sites around the Greater Manchester area, some delivering up to 300 units over a wide range of tenures and building methods including steel frame, timber and traditional. Some of the major they'll be delivering will be complex and involve some interesting elements alongside the actual build – for instance, one site will be bringing back a large stretch of disused canal to public use and another will deliver some unusual unit types which will be brand new to the business.

The business itself are a family firm and pride themselves on cutting out the red tape (and stress) that some of the PLC’s give. They’re keen on offering in-house training and further educating their staff and they have a track record for promoting from within – hence this is a potential good career move for you with the department so relatively new. Along with a competitive salary, car allowance and bonus, this could be the next best move for your career you’ve been looking for and with all this and more (which we can discuss on the phone) it’s a great time to be joining the business.

Summary:

  • Technical Coordinator for Manchester based affordable homes contractor.
  • You'll have experience of new build housing and apartments in the social housing sector and any flagship and major projects you’ve worked on will be looked upon kindly.
  • Ideally, you’ll have some sort of formal qualifications and will have worked in a Design or Technical position with experience of RIBA Plan of Work Stages.
  • Experience using Autocad and Revit is desired.
  • ASAP starts and interviews for the right candidate with a salary package up to £50,000.
