Job Description
Job Function of the Yard Operative: Performing in-depot maintenance operations.
Reporting to: Yard Foreman & Depot Manager. Collaborating with: Depot Managers, Yard Foreman, Field Service Engineers, Drivers & Valeters.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong work ethic, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities of a Yard Operative:
• Execute in-house repairs and conduct fault diagnosis on various equipment, encompassing, but not limited to:
- Chassis and brakes
- Diesel generators
- Diesel heaters
- Towing mechanisms
- Water heaters
- Hydraulic pumps
- Electric modules
- Painting/Spraying
- Bodywork • Perform scheduled maintenance for all equipment within the depot. • Maintain and review optimal parts stock levels consistently. • Allocate used parts accurately onto the works mobile tablet. • Process all jobs correctly on the works mobile tablet in a timely manner. • Provide support in other areas and depots as needed. • Ensure the work area is consistently clean, organized, and well-maintained. • Adhere to the company's Employee Handbook policies and procedures. • Fulfill any other duties assigned by your Manager.
Requirements for the Yard Operative role:
• Previous experience in a similar role.
- Experience within Mechanical Engineering
• Effective communication skills.
• Meticulous attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently or collaboratively within a team.
