Job Description
A main contractor with over 30 years of specialist residential experience is looking to recruit an experienced residential Quantity Surveyor to their head office in Wrexham – and with the pipeline of work this business has in Wales, if you both like what you see then you can be secure in your role for the next 5-7 years at LEAST and probably beyond.
Having entered into a long-term framework agreement in 2021, the company will be delivering at least one new site for a major housing association in the mid-and-West Wales areas with range up to North Wales, too, with values ranging up to £5 million. Your expertise will cover new build residential projects up to these values covering apartment schemes, care homes and housing stock with experience delivering projects up to around 30 units in total.
The contractor and HA have vast land banks, too, so although the partnership runs for the next 7 years, they’re already looking beyond that which means your scope will, too. If you prefer your day-to-day role stretching beyond that of the usual QS duties, then you’ll thrive here – the HA and client interaction is a big part of the job, site visits, client meetings, bringing the relationship closer together.
That’ll be on top of your day to day which is all encompassing so you can get involved at ALL parts of the process – picking the sites up and reviewing viability, tendering packages, site budgets through to pre-starts, placing orders, client valuations etc. There really is a lot to keep you interested and you'll be a focal point in the commercial team unlike other businesses who restrict your involvement and skillset.
What they’d like to offer you is office based day to day with site visits (so if you’re based around mid-Wales then this is perfect), salary to be negotiated depending on your experience but a substantial package on top including car allowance, mileage and fuel card which can add up to a healthy benefit itself. Early Friday finish at 1530 is a given, too.
