Information Governance & Assurance Lead
Location: Birmingham
Rate: £500 - £600 a day (umbrella)


A leading high-speed rail business is seeking an Interim Information Governance Lead to oversee governance and assurance activities, ensuring adherence to data standards and policies across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Define, implement, and monitor a governance framework to guide the use of data.
  • Develop the information governance & assurance approach, emphasising data as an asset and maintaining organisational compliance.
  • Ensure a standard approach for the technical assessment of information systems against assurance policies and business objectives.
  • Develop information assurance policies, standards, and guidelines.
  • Provide advice and guidance to ensure the adoption of and adherence to information assurance architectures, strategies, policies, standards, and guidelines.
  • Ensure data is managed appropriately.
Required Knowledge:
  • In-depth understanding of various information assurance policies and standards, with a focus on industry trends.
  • Proficiency with data storage tools.
  • Knowledge of digital information technology trends and the opportunities they present.
Required Experience:
  • Extensive experience in Information Governance.
  • Proven ability to translate business requirements into engineered solutions aligned with architectural standards, particularly analytic solutions.
  • Experience managing data as an asset within major organisations with similar compliance and risk management constraints.
  • Experience in setting and complying with information policy directives.
  • Strong understanding of the importance of data and information in construction projects.
