Job Description

Step Teachers are collaborating with a "Good" Ofsted-rated school in Finchley to recruit a Higher Level Teaching Assistant starting in September 2024. This role involves working across various classes as needed, with a primary focus on Year 3. You will provide support to students with additional needs, making experience with SEND essential. The school is seeking a seasoned Higher Level Teaching Assistant who is enthusiastic and capable of engaging with students to help them achieve their full potential.

Higher Level Teaching Assistant - Role:

  • Making a positive impact on the lives of children with diverse learning needs
  • Assisting the class teacher with planning and delivery of activities
  • Supporting the development of children’s language and communication skills
  • Encouraging positive behaviour and providing pastoral support to children when required
  • Providing feedback to parents and carers on children’s progress and achievements

Higher Level Teaching Assistant - Requirements:

  • HLTA qualification 
  • Experience working with children with SEND
  • Previous experience working as a Higher Level Teaching Assistant
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
