Head of Finance                                      

Doncaster

£45,000 - £46,000

The purpose of this vacancy is to contribute to the attainment of the company’s business objectives by:

  • Providing strategic and financial guidance to ensure that the company’s financial commitments are met.
  • Establish and maintain strong financial controls to continuously improve reporting, rectify accounting issues and continuously improve cost efficiencies, cashflow and EBITDA generation.
  • Work collaboratively across the many cross-functional teams within the business to drive business process improvement and optimisation, delivering robust financial control.

Main duties

  • Product monthly consolidated financials and KPIs reporting and communicate in a timely manner to Senior Team.
  • Cashflow management and optimisation
  • Produce all annual statutory financial and tax audits for business and liaise with audit teams to complete all reporting requirements for completion of statutory filings within the required deadlines.
  • Generate annual budgets, including KPIs and implement rolling detailed forecast models throughout the year to increase performance visibility to Senior Management Team and operational teams.
  • Liaise with external parties for VAT, Tax and Banking requirements including insurance and due diligence and credit checks.
  • UK/EU – VAT issues, including recent Brexit changes and HRMC PAYE/NIC compliance issues. Including a working knowledge on import/export processes and legislative framework.
  • Develop and maintain all necessary systems, policies and procedures to ensure effective and efficient financial management and compliance within the company.
  • Ensure adherence to financial laws and guidelines.
  • Prepare timely and detailed reports on financial performance on a monthly and annual basis including year-end accounts.
  • Develop and control the company’s annual budget to ensure that all financial targets are met and financial and statutory regulations complied with.
  • Oversee all audit and internal control operations.
  • Set targets for and supervise all finance team members.
  • Management of external payroll provider
  • Review and submit monthly management accounts to MD/SLT and parent company and liaison with parent company finance team on ad hoc matters
  • Produce and submit SAP reports
  • Ability to travel within Europe when required.

Experience required.

  • Professional Qualification: ACA, ACCA, CIMA MAAT or BSc/MSc in Accounting and Finance.
  • Proven track record at Finance Director or Financial Controller level.  Previous experience within the industry or similar industry.
  • 5+ years post qualification experience.
  • Solid knowledge of financial analysis and forecasting.
  • In-depth knowledge of corporate finance and accounting principles, laws and best practices.
  • Knowledge of the industry or similar industry.
  • Proficient in the use of MS Office, SAP and financial management software.
  • Excellent people skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Proven ability to manage at the executive level.
  • Thorough attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • The ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
