Experienced Stores Person
THE ROLE
This position involves overseeing the day-to-day management of the Joinery Stores, providing continual support to the management team & the production departments.
The role will involve the management & control of stock, dealing with deliveries & incoming materials, the safe handling of goods and materials, handling repairs and non-conformance materials and the use of IT computer software.
To provide continual support to the Transport team, which may include the use of a company vehicle to undertake collections & deliveries, the booking of transport/couriers and to assist the loading or un-loading of goods.
THE PERSON
Experience in the management of stock and ideally the buying of goods & services.
Good communication, planning & organizational skills.
A proactive attitude with the ability to work independently while using their own initiative.
The desire to perform the role with the highest levels of professionalism and integrity.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
· Stock management & replenishment.
· Goods in / Goods out.
· Issuing of stock to production departments.
· Procuring Goods & Services.
· Courier transport arrangement.
· Computer knowledge – Excel & Microsoft essential.
· To be able to prioritize workloads.
· Forklift license - Counter Balance.
· Ensure deliveries are properly checked and recorded, reporting any identified damages and discrepancies.
· Liaise with the Works Manager and Production teams where necessary as to their requirements, orders, deliveries and the issue of goods and equipment.
· Create and maintain, adequate stock control systems and procedures.
· Ensure all stores requests are processed accurately and in a timely manner.
· Undertake formal stock control procedures to ensure appropriate levels of stock.
· Responsible for Health & Safety requirements especially in relation to manual handling.
· Responsible for safe working practices, regarding the control of substances that are hazardous to health.
· Ensure that stores and associated areas are cleaned regularly and that contents are securely and safely stored.
· To be able to understand the urgency of allocating materials for the production & dispatch team.
· Prepare purchase orders for suppliers when requested.
· Deal with internal and external enquiries regarding orders and purchases.
· To react, prioritize and communicate with suppliers when requested.
· To support the Works Manager & Transport Department in the booking of courier & freight services.
· To participate in out of hours operations and willing to undergo overtime when required.
In addition to the responsibilities listed above, all employees must be flexible in their approach and undertake other duties that are commensurate with post holder’s level, wherever they may be, to achieve the objectives of the Company.
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: From £12.25 per hour
Expected hours: 39 – 45 per week
