Job Description
Opportunity for a Stores Controller to join a busy manufacturer.
The Stores Controller will report to the Logistics Manager and will focus on the Handling of Materials. They pick work orders for production build sequence and will ensure the ERP system is updated from materials received through to the work order.
Duties of the role will include:
- Accurate booking in and out of materials for stock production
- Monitoring the flow of materials in and out of the stores
- Maintain stock accuracy through regular cycle counting/stock checks and compiling root cause corrective action analysis
- Monitor stock control, ensuring material is used on a FIFO basis
- Report and expedite critical materials that will impact the production plan
- Work closely with the Buyer to monitor the over/under usage of materials
Knowledge and experience required for the role:
- Experience of working in a similar Stores/Material Handling role within a manufacturing environment
- Experienced in using Excel and ERP systems
- Strong attention to detail and numerical skills
- Able to prioritise workload in a fast-paced environment
- Experience of operating a forklift and have manual handling awareness
- Strong communication skills - both written and verbal
- Hard-working and prepared to get sleeves rolled up to get the job done
This is Early/Back Shift rotating role:
- Early Shift: Mon - Thurs 0600 - 1400 and Fri 0600-1100
- Back Shift: Mon - Thurs 1400 -2200 and Fri 1100-1600
