Resourcery Group is proud to exclusively support a Warrington-based charity in their search for a Financial Controller. This is an exciting opportunity for a highly skilled, operationally and strategically minded Finance professional.
Reporting to the Managing Director and overseeing a small, yet efficient, transactional and part qualified team, this role is crucial to the future sustainability and growth of the charity. As a key leadership role, it offers an exciting career journey with plenty of exposure and autonomy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the finance function, including overseeing the transactional functions
- Deliver high-quality management accounts and analysis
- Attend Board meetings and provide strategic guidance and advice
- Implement and maintain internal controls
- Manage cashflow effectively
- Ensure compliance with HMRC regulations by filing VAT returns and recovering partial VAT
- Produce annual accounts and tax returns
- Lead and manage external audits, including tendering as required
- Oversee and develop all accounting systems
- Create and maintain financial models
- Build and maintain key external relationships
- Collaborate with key budgetholders across the organisation
- Oversee payroll function
- Act as a visible finance lead and role model
Key Requirements:
- Professional qualification such as CIMA, ACCA, ACA, CIPFA is essential
- Exceptional leadership skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to take a hands-on approach while also providing strategic guidance
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret and present figures
- Autonomous and able to manage own workload and priorities
- Open to change and able to work at different paces dependant on buisness needs

- Competitive salary: £60,000 - £68,000 (dependent on experience)
