There is a lot of exciting change happening within our client's Procurement and Supply Chain and they are looking to appoint a Buyer.

Reporting to the newly appointed Supply Chain Manager the Buyer will be responsible for the purchasing of components, materials and services to meet the needs of the production schedule.

Responsibilities of the role will include:

  • Create and expedite orders for materials and services
  • Work closely with suppliers to ensure that orders are delivered on time
  • Liaise with Suppliers to resolve any quality issues of products
  • Monitoring On Time Delivery of open POs
  • Ensure any issues of delivery are highlighted to internal colleagues
  • Benchmarking of suppliers and materials
  • Sourcing of new suppliers and negotiating pricing
  • Work closely with colleagues in different departments (manufacturing, finance, Engineering)
  • Keeping systems updated

Experience and knowledge required for the role:

  • Proven experience working in a similar Purchasing/Buyers role within a manufacturing environment
  • Experience of placing orders and expediting
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Experience in using ERP/MRP systems and good Excel skills
  • Team Player who works well with colleagues
  • A solver of problems who always seeks the solution
