Job Description

Scantec recruitment are working in partnership with a leading FMCG Food Manufacturer in North Manchester to recruit a Quality & Compliance Auditor. This would suit somebody in a food manufacturing Quality Audit, compliance role, technical assistant / coordinator role within a QA department.

Reporting to the site Technical manager, your role will assist in providing technical support to the Technical Department by managing internal audits as well as ensuring that the reports and data sets, meet the needs of the site strategy, all statutory obligations, customer requirements and our company policies with respect to food safety and due diligence.  

Hours: 
Days, Monday to Friday
37.5 hours, 8am-4.30pm (some flex on this)

A brief summary of what you’ll be doing: 

  • Help to manage the site internal audit programme (schedule, issue, review and close of internal audits) on SHE.  
  • Ensure all required internal and external documentation is completed on time and maintaining traceability throughout the project.  
  • Maintain and develop artwork and packaging and ensure they are aligned with agreed pack copy, legal/company requirements, and ingredient specifications with any non-compliance is reported and followed up.  
  • Have an awareness of the site HACCP system, highlighting any issues in complying with the agreed specification standards of the customer.  
  • Complete, review and close off site customer complaints on QADEX and customer portals, based on relevant root cause analysis and corrective actions.  
  • Manage the supplier non-conformances and assist the Technical Manager with KPI reports completion for site and customers. 
  • Ensure raw materials comply with the customer list(s) criteria, manage the rejection of out of specification raw material suppliers and conduct mass balance exercise to High-risk ingredients as defined by COPs. 

Some of the skills and experience you’ll need: 

We’re seeking a confident and assertive personality with a proactive solution focused approach to HSE and Sustainability. You’ll need to be well organised and have excellent communication skills, as well as previous experience within a food manufacturing / processing environment. 

The ideal candidate would also have an awareness of nutrition, food intolerance/allergens, microbiology, nutritional and chemical analysis and knowledge of up-to-date legislation regarding labelling.
