Strategic Property Compliance Manager
Location: North London
Rate: £43.95 per hour umbrella

A North London local authority is seeking a highly skilled Strategic Property Compliance Manager to join their team. As the Compliance Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the council's compliance with all landlord statutory and non-statutory duties and obligations across designated portfolios. This includes accountability for property statutory compliance areas, general business Health & Safety matters, and advising managers, directors, and members on compliance issues.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Take strategic accountability and direct and indirect operational responsibility for ensuring compliance with all landlord duties and obligations.
  2. Lead the implementation and management of Building Safer Futures legislation and relevant subsequent legislation.
  3. Manage housing fire safety, including the implementation of Regulatory Reform Order legislation and delivery of related works.
  4. Manage the insurance contract with corporate insurers and ensure the asset base is correctly insured and maintained.
  5. Support the Head of Property Services in ensuring effective compliance with statutory requirements, policies, and priorities.
  6. Oversee the development and implementation of compliance and H&S policies, staying informed of legislative changes.
  7. Lead and promote a safety-first culture for all staff, particularly mobile and agile staff.
Knowledge and Qualifications:
  • Membership of a relevant professional body (e.g., RICS, RIBA, or CIBSE) is desirable.
  • NEBOSH National Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety or relevant experience.
  • Evidence of significant relevant Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
  • Knowledge of current Health & Safety legislation and best practices.
  • Familiarity with compliance and regulatory frameworks relevant to local authorities and Registered Providers.
