Job Description

You're an experienced purchase ledger clerk who has more to offer.

Probably the person who deputises for a manager. Or the go-to for queries from the team. Maybe the one who's relied upon when a work problem or project needs a solution or a teammate needs a confidante.

Here's an opportunity for a hands-on role where you'll be responsible for a complex ledger but also oversee a team of four, someone they can go to if they need help, authorises their holiday, is the go-between for them and the CFO.

This is not a big finance team despite the business growing fast, offering in-demand specialist services, but the culture is one where you'll not work extended hours (except perhaps a little bit of flexibility at month-end/year-end). But you'd expect that.

The incumbent leaves at the end of July and will provide a full handover, working part-time beyond this date if required to make sure their replacement is comfortable.

This is a position which is 100% office-based and is in a central location with on-site parking but also good public transport links.

Salary is based on someone with similar supervisory experience but it could be that an applicant demonstrates the ability to step up and the starting salary will reflect that, with an increase after a six-month review.

The company pays a very generous annual bonus in April (pro rata according to your dates of employment in that year). But it is a bonus and therefore subject to change, despite paying out consistently year on year.

You'll get 25 days holiday plus 8 bank holidays (saving 5 days for Christmas close) and a statutory pension scheme which, if you contribute to, also gives you death in service 5 x salary.

Your hours will be 9 am to 5 pm, with a 30-minute break from Monday to Thursday, and an hour on Friday. There's likely to be the reintroduction of an early finish Friday on a weekly rotation. And you'll be located close to lots of amenities so grabbing a bite at lunchtime or doing a bit of shopping is not going to be a problem.

Apply now to be considered.
