Are you an enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant (Key Stage 1) looking to make a difference in the lives of kids with complex needs? Do you have prior experience working as a SEN 121 Support Teaching Assistant in an educational environment with students who require more assistance? If yes, we offer a fantastic opportunity for you! Step Teachers are working with a school in Potters Bar! Their goal is to be an exceptional school that provides students with a secure, supportive, and engaging learning environment in which they may grow socially, intellectually, and emotionally while developing new and current abilities. This position is expected to begin in September 2024.

SEN TA Role:

  • As a SEN TA you should be able to provide one-on-one sessions with special needs kids.
  • Assist with classroom management and create a positive and safe classroom atmosphere.
  • Encourage student participation and engagement in classroom activities.
  • Help maintain a clean and organised learning environment.
  • Communicate regularly with parents and caregivers to provide updates on student progress and address any concerns.

SEN TA Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with young children, especially in an educational setting, is an advantage.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with children.
  • Willingness to collaborate with teachers and support staff.
  • A commitment to creating a positive and inclusive learning environment.
