Tax Advisor - Northampton c£55K - £65K ( Depending on experience )

As a result of expansion here is an opportunity for a Senior Tax Advisor in Northampton in a role with a focus on tax advisory and review.

The firm advises businesses ranging from large international corporations to small family companies. In addition to commercial companies in service and manufacturing industries, and also deal with professional partnerships, financial services, entrepreneurs and charities.
The aim is to provide outstanding service in a professional and efficient manner tailored to give the client the benefit of exceptional advice and maximum added value.

There is flexibility in the level of the role and it can be flexed to fit experience.

The practice has a substantial and growing client base of sole traders, partnerships, OMB Ltd companies and larger businesses, directors and HNWI’s.


Opportunity for an enthusiastic individual with at least three years’ experience in the delivery of tax advice. You will need experience of both personal and corporation tax.


  • Advise on tax planning, business restructuring, HMRC tax clearances and R&D claims
  • Conducting technical research and providing advise accordingly.
  • Work closely with the accounts to review corporation tax and personal tax computations and returns, with a sound understanding of both Personal & Corporate Taxes
  • Deal with HMRC in respect of tax enquiries
  • Conduct research in respect of technical tax matters
  • Inform the team on relevant changes in tax law.
  • Support colleagues on advisory projects and developing junior members of the team as they progress into this type of work.
  • Able to Prepare Tax Planning Reports/Summaries to Senior Members of the Team
  • Review Tax Planning & Tax Compliance Work carried out by Junior Members of the Team
  • Run/Attend Client Meetings (both existing and prospective)
  • Actively assist in the ongoing development of Junior Members of the Team


• CTA qualified is desirable but study support for CTA would be provided if required
• At least three years’ UK tax experience
• A sound understanding of accounts and their interaction with tax computations is essential.
• Competent knowledge of VAT, stamp duty and SDLT would be desirable
• Strong organisational skills
• Ideas focused and able to deliver creative solutions
