Director of Homes & Assets
Location: East London
Rate: £800 - £825 per day (umbrella)

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Homes & Assets to join a Local Authority in East London. Reporting to the Strategic Director of My Place, you will play a crucial role in developing and implementing a clear strategic vision to enhance income, public engagement, and civic pride, while delivering excellent customer services and area-based service delivery for all tenants and residents.

Responsibilities:
  • Set the strategic direction for My Place as the Council’s landlord and managing agent, ensuring a robust business plan is in place for its development and growth, ensuring financial sustainability.
  • Develop and lead effective relationships with internal and external partners, clients, and customers, accountable for the full operational service delivery of My Place.
  • Develop the My Place business plan and service improvement plans to ensure excellence at a competitive price, unifying various service areas into one holistic service.
  • Manage complexity by streamlining processes and systems to create leaner, efficient services, fostering a commercial culture to deliver required outcomes.
  • Lead the collaborative improvement of the quality, usability, and cleanliness of the Public Realm through My Place and sub-contracted services to achieve industry-standard excellence.

Essential Experience and Knowledge:

  • Substantial executive-level management experience in a large organization with a successful track record in motivating staff groups
  • Experience in developing working relationships with strategic partners and inter-agency collaboration.
  • Ability to develop, negotiate, and implement corporate and business/service planning and performance management frameworks.
  • In-depth understanding of financial management within the public and private sectors.
  • Ability to understand, analyze, and draw conclusions from numerical and statistical data.

  • Education: Degree level qualification or equivalent experience.
  • Chartered Member of CIH or equivalent qualification.
  • RICS Membership.
  • Evidence of continuous professional development.
