We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to join a High Speed Rail business in Birmingham as the technical lead for the business Landscape Design and Public Realm activities.
- Serve as the technical lead for Landscape Design and Public Realm activities within the high speed project across various contract and geographic areas.
- Act as the Subject Matter Lead (SML) for all Landscape Design and Public Realm matters, ensuring compliance with design vision across contracts and stakeholders.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to set strategic objectives and assure outcomes.
- Engage with stakeholders, including Natural England, Forestry Commission, Canal & River Trust, and Planning Authorities up to Director level.
- Lead a small team of Landscape Architects and consultants, providing strategic design leadership and setting technical standards.
- Experience in delivering complex Landscape and Public Realm schemes in a multi-disciplinary environment.
- Familiarity with complex programs/projects and understanding of inter dependencies.
- Proven leadership skills, including effective problem-solving and delegation.
- Strong presentation skills suitable for diverse stakeholders.
- Proficient in risk management and analytical skills.
- Ability to influence and negotiate with senior decision-makers.
- Degree in Landscape Architecture or equivalent, with Chartered Membership of the Landscape Institute preferred.
- Familiarity with relevant Landscape Architecture standards and their application in a transportation environment.
- Understanding of cost delivery, schedule targets, and integration of design requirements.
- Experience in complex organisational and project environments.
