We are currently seeking an Interim Fire Safety Surveyor to join a at Local Authority. As a Fire Safety Surveyor, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring fire safety standards are met across our portfolio, in accordance with regulatory requirements and best practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify and assess fire-related risks and issues within our property portfolio, devising and overseeing remedial actions as necessary.
- Conduct comprehensive contract evaluations, producing detailed reports for pre and post-contract assessments.
- Collaborate closely with repairs staff, consultants, designers, and other stakeholders to ensure compliance with fire safety legislation and council policies.
- Manage and validate Fire Risk Assessments (FRAs), implementing robust risk management strategies for our assets.
- Utilise your specialist knowledge to identify technical solutions for fire safety works, supporting both major investment schemes and minor repair projects.
- Provide expert technical support and training to housing staff, assisting with key management issues related to fire safety.
- Drive continuous development and compliance of the council’s fire safety strategy and policies.
- Engage with residents and residents’ groups to promote and advocate for good fire safety practices within our communities.
- Strong background in Contract Management, with demonstrated expertise in overseeing remedial actions and work packages.
- Proficiency in building safety regulations (BSR) and familiarity with relevant building codes and standards.
- Proven track record of completing detailed schedules of works and fire-related specifications, as well as delivering investment schemes while monitoring works on-site.
- Formal Fire Safety Qualification is a must.
