Land Surveyor (Junior to Mid-Level) – Railway Multidisciplinary

An esteemed civil engineering firm is currently seeking a dedicated Land Surveyor, focusing on railway infrastructure projects including iconic viaducts, stations, and bridges, as well as ventures into the wild and beautiful countryside of Scotland, from Glasgow through the central belt up to the Aberdeen region. This position offers the opportunity to work with cutting-edge surveying equipment and software, contributing to significant infrastructure developments.

The client has invested considerable money in new state of the art equipment and technology.

Responsibilities:

Conduct comprehensive Railway and Utility surveying, with both day and night shifts, ensuring precision and adherence to project requirements.

ideally you will be comfortable to manage 1 – 2 week long surveying projects independently, demonstrating strong organisational and time management skills, in order to be rewarded with the highest packages.

Equally I do want to hear from competent track ( P Way Surveyors) that want to expand the type of Railway asset that is surveyed.

Collaborate effectively with teams and stakeholders, contributing to the planning and execution of surveying projects across various locations.

Qualifications:

3 -4  years of experience in land surveying, with a preference for candidates possessing knowledge of railway infrastructure projects. 

Proficiency in the latest surveying technology and software. Especially Total Stations and GPS surveying.

PTS / Sentinel and Rail experience for the mid level Surveyor

Capability to undertake fieldwork in diverse environments without supervision.

Suitable Candidates

You might come from the Utility Surveying sector, where you can continue to develop, but also be exposed to the Railway Sector

You might be a Track Surveyor, working nights endlessly, and want to explore other infrastructure, on and off trackside on Day and Night Shifts.

You may possess a broad range of Rail based surveying projects, including OLE, PWAY, stations, and other railway assets.

The role offers a competitive salary range of £38,000 - £42,000 (Mid Level), with a 20-25% uplift for overtime, reflecting the firm's appreciation for commitment and hard work. Successful candidates will find secure, varied work that not only challenges but also rewards with experiences in some of Scotland's most scenic and historically significant sites.

Being heavily involved in rail projects, there will be additional opportunities to take up associated support on UK Rail projects during critical possessions and delivery stages, this is by no means mandatory, but worth thinking about if you are building a savings pot etc
