Noise Assessment Specialist
Location: London
Salary: £39,250 - £56,465 including 15% Flex fund

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to join a High Speed Rail business as a Noise Assessment Specialist.
As a Noise Assessment Specialist, you will play a crucial role in providing expert technical support on noise across our project. You will collaborate with the supply chain and colleagues to ensure that project commitments related to noise and vibration are met within specified timescales, with a strong focus on delivering value for money.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with the supply chain and colleagues to ensure project commitments regarding noise and vibration are delivered.
  • Support the Head of Noise Assessment in implementing environmental noise requirements and developing appropriate procedures and processes.
  • Provide technical assessment review for hybrid bills, Environment Statements, Petitioner responses, and Parliamentary Queries.
  • Work closely with the Environment team to achieve noise objectives and support wider team objectives.
  • Ensure that project deliverables meet environmental acoustics requirements through technical assessment and review.
Requirements:

Knowledge:
  • Demonstrable understanding of environmental noise, health, and sustainability principles.
  • Corporate memberships with the Institute of Acoustics or an equivalent organisation.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation, technical guidance, industry standards, and best practices in noise and vibration matters.
Experience:
  • Experience working in multidisciplinary teams within complex and medium to high-risk projects.
  • Experience in conducting and interpreting infrastructure-related noise and vibration measurements, predictions, and assessments.
  • Familiarity with the application of noise and vibration control methods for the construction and operation of large projects.
  • Experience working with a team of acoustics professionals, as well as external contractors and consultants.
