The successful candidate will be responsible for driving the strategic direction and delivery of a diverse range of capital and revenue projects, playing a pivotal role in fostering inclusive economic growth within the region.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a team of project management professionals, ensuring the successful delivery of complex regeneration projects.
- Act as a senior project lead, overseeing large and intricate capital projects and programmes.
- Manage budgets effectively across various regeneration projects, demonstrating financial acumen and accountability.
- Produce high-quality reports and communications, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Conduct negotiations and procurement activities related to land, property, and regeneration initiatives.
- Represent the Regeneration service and projects at a senior level, engaging with external stakeholders, Members, and senior managers.
- Foster effective communication and collaboration with stakeholders, partners, and multi-agency teams.
- Deputise for the Head of Service when required, demonstrating leadership and decision-making skills.
- Support, manage, and develop the team to achieve optimal performance within the service delivery environment.
- Work independently while effectively engaging with senior and junior officers to achieve common goals.
- Prioritise workload effectively in response to service needs, ensuring efficient project management.
- Possess knowledge of current Local Government democratic processes and understand the political context impacting project delivery.
- Proven experience managing significant and complex regeneration projects within an economic development environment.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels.
- Financial acumen and experience in budget management.
- Understanding of Local Government processes and political context.
- Track record of successful project delivery and stakeholder management.
